i was researching the topic of 144,000, does anyone have any scans from the 1935 convension when rutherford made the big change about the great crowd.

or any scans from watctower articles around that time that discuss this issue and what the new rules were to be.. also, does anyone know who rutherford said would live on paradise earth before 1935, because in the millions now living book written in 1925 he had talked about abraham and others living in beth sarim, additionally he did say in the millions book at that time that many people would be able to live on earth forever, who was he referring to if all were supposed to go to heaven..

sorry to pose this question if it is here on the board somewhere.

i have been sifting for hours and even though i've found lots of great information, i can't find what i am looking for.. motivated by the hurricane tragedies, i decided to become a red cross volunteer on a local level.

i had my first training on saturday and came away feeling very good about my decision.

the great multitude that is.

and that prior to that there were some classes of earthly salvation but it did not appear to be his followers that would be involved in that.

Does anyone have a source for the teaching that the good jws would be annointed and the not so good would be part of the great mult. prior to 1935s change?

Additionally can someone post a scan of the page from SS vol 1 that explains who will be part of the 2 heavenly and 2 earthly classes. It would be greatly appreciated?

One last question, if prior to 1935 jws were part of the great mult and the 144, why do people on the net say that the reason for the new light of 1935 was that the 144 was getting full. If others could just join the great mult and still go to heaven , why the need for the change. Was it just to have more control and not have anything to do with the 144 getting full as many claim?

lets say today was jan 1 1932 and a witness came to the door trying to convince someone to join the organization, what would they be offering the average joe an earthly or heavenly hope. I do know they believed in four hopes (2 earthly and 2 heavenly).. And they seemed to promote the earthly one in the Millions book. So what was the big change of 1935.

It is all over the net that in 1935 Rutherford got a flash of light stating that his followers would start to have an earthly hope. The great multitude that is. If this is so then why in the Millions now living will never die book written in 1920 was he giving the hope that people could live on earth with the ancient worthies in 1925. This book was written for his followers. Does anyone have any good references and or info regarding this. All help greatly appreciated.

I See what you are saying about the 4 classes. But that still does not make it clear that the wt said prior to 1935 that all of their members would go to heaven. In the book Millions now living never die, they basically are telling people to look foreward to living a life on earth in paradise which was supposed to be in 1925. Therefore they were telling there members they had an earthly hope. Does anyone have any info on this.

Are there any scans showing something like ===join our orginization and you will go to heaven=== from the old literature (like today they have hundreds of pamphlets and mags saying --join and you will live on earth forever---)

i was talking to my father about the awake!

mag talking about christianity and how their followers were losing faith and trust in the religion because doctrines have changed.

what was once a sin five yrs ago is no longer a sin.

The celebration of christmas has changed, It was once thought to be very appropriate to celebrate, and it was even suggested in many wt publications to give WT books as gifts.

Additionally the society thought the jesus died on a cross, the earlier watchtowers all have crosses on the cover of them and many old books have pictures of jesus on a cross.

Additionally, the watchtower taught that the Great pyramid in egypt was gods stone witness and they later changed there view claming it was designed by satan.
